Unsupported, well maybe, maybe not?!

So here is the background scenario...

Full time college student working 2 part time jobs about 20-30 hours per week and mom.

Beginning of the weekend following a 3 day stomach virus my son has.

Three tests, a 7-10 page paper, and lab report due, plus a project for child.

Other tasks laundry and meals for the family.

Here is the question:

I work on Friday and feel the stomach bug coming on.  The next day (Saturday) I asked him to write out everything so that all he needed to do was type everything out.  Sunday Afternoon (noon) I find out he forgot his guidelines for his project.  I ask my husband if he can help with our child's project as I had previously warned him I would be overwhelmed this weekend due to all the guidelines.  He states that he would.  After several hours, no project has been started and it is about 5 pm.  As my husband plays XBOX 360 he states he does not understand the project.  I explain several times and he says he still does not understand and does not get off the xbox either to understand the project.  My husbands view is that if our child forgets his guidelines for the project he should complete the project without any assistance and receive whatever grade he gets.  My view is he should submit what he believes the project to be about under the guidance of a parent. (i.e. checking for neatness, spelling, or any items that may be approved upon).  Normally I would allow my son to complete this at a slow as a snail pace however I had several deadlines coming up.  I helped him complete the tasks simply because I too had so many assignments due including one that night at 1159 pm.    What would you do?

Here is question #2:

Given the first scenario and the fact that I was very overwhelmed with school work and life stress I hinted that the laundry needed to be completed.  The request was ignored for two days...until I attempted to bring my concerns regarding his lack of effort to help our child and complete household chores when I am overwhelmed...(I rarely ask him to wash clothes) that he offered.  I no longer needed him to do the laundry...I needed the help when I was in the midst of the deadlines.

(He was "unable" to complete the laundry because the washer was being used by a family member).

Background on my husband

Recently started working 12 hour days and works every other saturday.  Something I have done for many years and completed household tasks.
